What would happen if the five Pandavas from the Mahabharata found themselves in today's Nepal?
That question forms the premise of Panch Pandav, a new Nepali feature film scheduled to hit cinemas nationwide on November 6, 2026.
Directed by Basanta Niraula, the film places characters inspired by the ancient epic into a modern social setting, connecting mythology with issues affecting contemporary Nepali society.
The film brings together a notable ensemble of Nepali actors, including Hari Bansha Acharya, Jitu Nepal, Aaryan Sigdel, Mahesh Tripathi and Sushil Sitaula. Deepa Shree Niraula, Eva Giri, Sarita Giri and Prashant Tamrakar are also part of the cast.
Written by Sushil Poudel, the production offers audiences a contemporary interpretation of familiar Mahabharata characters through a story rooted in present-day realities.
With its release approaching, Panch Pandav is preparing to enter cinemas as another addition to Nepal's 2026 film calendar.
