Jimmy Donaldson, the content creator known globally as MrBeast, announced Sunday that he and his team are launching a fundraising campaign to raise millions of dollars for people affected by Nepal's Bhotekoshi floods, calling on his massive global audience to join the effort. The campaign was announced via an Instagram story and a direct-to-camera video.

Separately, CARE International confirmed on September 15 that MrBeast and Beast Philanthropy are partnering with CARE Nepal to fund the next stage of flood recovery, aiming to reach more than 10,000 people with food, water and shelter including up to 1,500 "CARE PACKAGE for Emergencies" kits and temporary housing for 100 families who lost their homes. CARE said $1 million had already been raised with support from P&G and other partners before this partnership was announced.

This isn't the first time MrBeast has done something like this. Back in 2025, he teamed up with fellow creator Mark Rober for a campaign called #TeamWater, which ended up raising more than $40 million to bring clean drinking water to two million people around the world. So there's real reason to think this Nepal campaign could grow into something similarly large.

Why this matters?

This helps to look at the scale of what's happening in Nepal. The involvement of a creator with MrBeast's reach could meaningfully expand global visibility and donations beyond what Nepali diaspora and existing NGO channels have raised so far .

Whether that translates into real, lasting help will depend on what happens next: how much money actually comes in, and how quickly it reaches the families who need it most.
