Nepal beat Canada by 24 runs in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 in Al Amerat, Oman, today, October 11,2026 as captain Rohit Paudel scored a century to lead a recovery after an early batting collapse.

Nepal was bowled out for 235 in 50 overs. Rohit Paudel top scored with 101 from 127 balls, hitting eight fours and a six. It was his third men's One-Day International century and his first since October 30,2025, a gap of 346 days.

Nepal lost Aasif Sheikh for four and Ishan Pandey for a duck, slipping to 10 for two after three overs. Paudel rebuilt the innings with Arjun Kumal, who made 23, and Basir Ahamad, who made 30. Nepal was 133 when Basir was dismissed and 141 for five after Dipendra Singh Airee made six.

Gulshan Jha then lifted the scoring with 48 from 34 balls, including four fours and three sixes. His 82-run partnership with Paudel took Nepal past 200.

Canada's Akhil Kumar took four wickets, Sukhjinder Singh three and Zahid Shirzad two.

Canada, chasing 236, were bowled out for 211 in 48.4 overs. Aaron Johnson top-scored with 44 from 49 balls and Samit Gohel made 35 from 59, but Canada could not complete the chase. Sandeep Lamichhane took two wickets for 22 runs and Lalit Rajbanshi two for 36. Karan KC took one for 12.

Nepal had lost previous three completed League 2 fixtures before this match.

The competition forms part of the qualification pathway to the 2027 Men's Cricket World Cup. The top four team in the final standings qualify directly for the 2027 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, while the rest must go through the Qualifier play-off. The win does not by itself secure qualification or move Nepal into the top four.

Nepal now will face Oman on October 31 in Al Amerat, then meet Canada again on October 17.
