Nepal's Yuki "The Gurkha" Angdembe picked up his ninth professional win on Saturday, beating China's Buhuogubu "The Yi Eagle" by unanimous decision at JCK Fight Night-123.
The two traded kicks and punches early on, but Angdembe found his groove late in the first round by doing what he does best grappling. Once he took the fight to the ground, he never really let go, sweeping all three judges' scorecards over the three-round bout.
The win keeps Angdembe's momentum building as he pursues what many see as a genuine shot at becoming Nepal's next fighter on the Road to UFC following in the footsteps of Rabindra Dhant, whom Angdembe himself first introduced to their shared training gym in Bali.
Angdembe fights in the bantamweight division and has built his rise largely outside Nepal itself training in Bali, fighting across India and China reflecting how Nepali combat-sports talent has increasingly had to look abroad for both training infrastructure and consistent fight opportunities.
With his ninth professional win now in hand, Angdembe continues building the kind of record that could eventually put him in genuine UFC contention which is a milestone that would mark a significant moment for Nepali MMA, a sport still establishing its international profile.
