According to the reports, Meta is developing a new pair of smart glasses, internally code named Luna, removing two main features associated with smartglasses of modern times : camera and the display. Luna is expected to be focused more on the voice controlled artificial intelligence and audio aspect of it.

Luna is expected to feature six built-in microphones and speakers directed at the wearer's ears, plus a physical side button for quickly activating Meta AI and its newer Muse consumer AI agent . The glasses are expected in two design variants, called Clubmaster and Burbank, and removing the camera should let Meta build noticeably slimmer temple arms than its current models, which often weigh 50g or more compared to roughly 25-30g for ordinary glasses.

As per the reports Meta could begin shipping the glasses as soon as from October, although there has been no official conformation of the product from the company's side.

However, Luna wouldn't be the first camera-free option on the market smaller brands like Even Realities (with its $599 G2) and RayNeo already sell glasses without cameras, though most of those competitors include a small monochrome display for things like translation or teleprompting. Luna, notably, is expected to skip a display too, making it a more minimal, audio-only AI device by comparison,to be the first of its kind.

Until Meta formally unveils the product, all specifications of Luna including the exact release date remain based on reporting rather than an official company announcement.
