POLICY UPDATE: USCIS rejecting old I-539 and I-765 forms from September 15,F-1 students two days into the change

Starting September 15, 2026, USCIS published revised editions of two forms widely used by students and workers in the US:

1.Form I-539 (Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status) replaces the 08/28/24 edition

2.Form I-765 (Application for Employment Authorization, used for OPT, STEM OPT, and other work permits) replaces the 08/21/25 edition
