Search teams had recovered 1,396 bodies, 4089 still missing from from the Bhote Koshi flood disaster in Rasuwa, according to updated Nepal Police data as of Monday.
From the data of the 1,396 recovered dead bodies, Chitwan seems to be the hardest hit area for recovered bodies with total 364 bodies recovered followed by Nawalparasi East (232), Nawalparasi West (222), Nuwakot(202), Rasuwa (189), Gorkha( 78), Dhading( 71), and Tanahun (38).
Of these, 1,230 bodies have been safely managed through temporary burial , while identification work continues on the rest.
For the identification of the dead, a total of 3,147 DNA samples are collected so far accumulating 1286 from bodies and 1861 from relatives.
Alongside search and identification work, 2,781 people remain housed in holding centers across the affected districts.
