The chairman of Kispang Rural Municipslity, Birbal Tamang, aged 43 was arrested today right at the gate of Singha Durbar's main gate immediately after attending a PM- convened meeting regarding the flood-area reconstruction with the elected representatives of the flood affected areas.
Tamang, is arrested for a banking offence case after a complaint was filed on his name after the court approved his arrest yesterday. The arrest comes as Nuwakot remains one of the districts hardest hit by the August 26 Bhote Koshi floods, with local representatives from affected areas including Tamang specifically summoned to Kathmandu to discuss rebuilding efforts.
Further investigation into the banking-offence case is ongoing at the Durbar Marg police circle.
