Relentless rainfall since Thursday has triggered floods, landslides and river erosion across Nepal, killing at least 12 people and leaving seven others missing, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority(NDRRMA).
More than 1,100 people have been moved to safer locations as authorities warn that river levels coud continue rising and further floods and landslides remain possible. Several highways and local roads have been blocked, houses

Baglung: 4 members of the same family were vuried when a landslide destroyed their house in Nishikhola R.M,3. The victims were identified as Shyam Kumari BK and her three sons, Manoj,Mukesh and Nisan. Three bodies are recovered by the people while efforts are continuing for the fourth one.
Palpa: A landslide at Mathagadhi R.M killed two people in seperate incidents while another at Bhaisekatta buried a house and a cattle shed. In one incident, 75 years old Lil Bahadur Gharti Magar was killed after a landslide buried his house. His two daughters aged 17 and 15 remains missing. Two additional deaths in seperate Palpa landslides are reported while search operation continues.
Parbat: In Jaljala RM-8, the situation has worsened. Floodwaters from the Kaligandaki river swept away around 80 houses in Farse settlements. Residents had moved to safer locations and no death has been confirmed as of the latest reports.
Myagdi: In Giwang village of Annapurna RM-5, a house was buried by a landslide.Two people present inside the house at the time of the landslide remain unaccounted for.
Manang: Manang is currently facing two different disasters. In Nason RM-1, Talaun village has been flooded after the Marshyangdi river overflowed. The same village had been previously devastated by flooding in 2021 and was subsequently rebuilt. Seperately, 14 Nepali workers remain missing after an avalance struck the base camp of Himlung Himal. The workers, including Sherpas and support staff had gone ahead of foreign climbers to prepare the expedition camp and the foreign climbers had not yet arrived. This particular list is not the seven people included of the NDRRMA list. Syangja Gulmi: A bridge connecting Syangja and Gulmi near the Kaligandaki Hydropower Project was swept away by the rising Kaligandaki river.
Nawalparasi Tanahu: Floodwaters have also damaged the approach road to a bridge connecting Nawalparasi East and Tanahu across the Kaligandali river. This damage has cut off road and pedestrian movement between Baudikali RM-2 and Ghiring RM.
Rupandehi: In Butwal, the Tinau river rose above the danger level and swept away six houses in the Top Majhuwa area of Butwal Sub- Metropolitan City-11. Around 200 houses along the riverbank were reported to be at risk, while security personnel evacuated about 1,000 people from vulnerable areas.
Chitwan: Narayani river has risen above its danger level in Chitwan amid continuing rainfall. The rising river has increased the risk of flooding. Road travel has also been disrupted. Landslides and mudslides have affected several locations along the Narayanghat Muglin road .
With heavy rain continuing in parts of the country, authorities remain on alert for further flooding, landslides and river erosion. Rescue teams are working in affected districts, while blocked roads, damaged bridges, power cuts and communication failures continue to complicate the response. For now, the full scale of the damage remains unclear, particularly in remote areas where bad weather and damaged infrastructure are preventing rescue teams and officials from reaching affected communities.
