The Road Division Kathmandu, under the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development, officially launched the "Sadak Sujhav" (Road Suggestion) App on September 17, allowing residents to directly register complaints and suggestions about damaged federal roads in the Kathmandu Valley. The application covers roughly 472 km of road network. For roads outside federal jurisdiction, the app also tells users which agency to contact instead.
The Road Division plans to expand coverage to Lalitpur and Bhaktapur within two weeks, with a phased nationwide rollout to follow.
The launch comes as Nepal's roads remain under unusual strain following flood damage to major highways like the Prithvi and Pasang Lhamu highway giving citizens a more direct digital channel to flag problems as recovery work competes with routine maintenance needs.
If effectively implemented and expanded as planned, the app could meaningfully speed up how quickly damaged roads get identified and repaired , though,as with many Nepali e-governance tools, its real test will be whether complaints registered through it are consistently acted on, not just logged.
